Industrial Park Site and Transportation Improvements Project

Industrial Park Site and Transportation Improvements Project

Panola County, MS

Description

Mendrop provided engineering services to the Panola Partnership for the development and ongoing improvement of the Panola County Airport Industrial Complex. An Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant helped fund the initial development and construction of two 100,000 square foot building pads, as well as paved access and water and sewer utilities at the 220-acre Airport Industrial Complex site.

In 2014, Mendrop utilized InvestPrep funds to provide due diligence and planning services to help complete the purchase of the adjacent 300-acre Wardlaw property. Development included surveys, environmental, and engineering services. Following the purchase, InvestPrep funding was used to reclaim holding ponds, demolish existing buildings, and provide entrance road access to the property.

Additional ARC-funded improvements were initiated in 2017, including paving the entrance road, upgrading water infrastructure, and constructing a gravel access road with potential future connectivity to parcels adjacent to I-55, further enhancing the site as a premier 300-acre development.

In 2019, Mendrop secured additional ARC grant funding to continue upgrading the industrial park. Under this phase, Mendrop developed site grading and erosion control plans incorporating silt fence, check dams, and construction entrances, with seeding, mulching, and drain pipes implemented as needed.
