Industrial Park Site and Transportation Improvements Project

Industrial Park Site and Transportation Improvements Project

Panola County, MS

Description

MER provided engineering services to the Panola Partnership for development of the new industrial park located in Panola County, Mississippi. An Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant helped to fund the development and construction of two 100,000 square foot building pads, as well as adding paved access and water and sewer utilities at a 220 acre Airport Industrial Complex site.

Working on behalf of Panola Partnership in 2014, MER utilized InvestPrep funds to provide due diligence and all of the planning required to help complete the purchase of the 300 acre Wardlaw property adjacent to the original Airport Industrial Complex site. Development included surveys, environmental, and engineering services. After the purchase, InvestPrep funding was used to reclaim holding ponds, demo buildings, and provide entrance road access to the property.

Additional improvements were initiated in 2017 under another Appalachian Regional Commission grant. This work includes paving the entrance road, upgrading water infrastructure, and providing a gravel access road that could potentially be used in the future for access to parcels adjacent to 1-55. These improvements have further enhanced the site to make it a premier 300-acre site development.
