Significant rain in February of 2020 caused landslides along Redwood Road in Vicksburg, Mississippi, resulting in approximately 1,000 feet of damage. Mendrop was contracted to provide erosion control plans, hydraulic design analysis, and roadway design plans.
Mendrop worked with subcontractor Headwater, Inc. for wetlands/water delineation and reporting, and with Burns, Cooley, Dennis, Inc. for geotechnical investigation. Mendrop collected topographic survey using LiDAR and traditional GPS survey methods, and worked with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) to develop right-of-way plans and roadway designs for the repair. After the plans were approved, Mendrop has continued to provide construction engineering and inspection services, which include construction staking, construction management, preparing required reports, and maintaining records during construction.
